Maintenance This is how you look after your hairstyle. It involves regular salon visits for haircuts and colour, getting split ends and fringe trims and having good home hair care.

Minge A mini fringe. (Not what you thought huh?)

Mohawk A hairstyle that became popular in the 80s in punk subculture. It is a high, spiked section of hair running down the centre of the head from forehead to neck, with shorter hair or shaved on the sides. It’s an extreme hairstyle but a toned-down version has become fashionable thanks to David Beckham and other hip individuals.

Moisture  is VERY important to healthy hair, to any hair. Hair normally has moisture content of around 10% and it’s the moisture that stops hair from feeling dry, frizzy and damaged. You can get specific treatments for adding moisture-see moisturisers.

Moisturisers Used to hold moisture in the hair. Usually these contain high proportions of hydrogen bonds, which is important for healthy hair.

Moroccan Oil is a wonderful hair product that is a derivative of Argan oil. This cosmetic grade oil comes from nuts that are cold pressed. It’s the new must have in most salons and we love it at Stevie English.

Mullet A hairstyle that is an Australian favourite- it is short at the front and the sides and long around the back. It was designed to keep the sun of the back of the neck and shoulders, its often seen as a lowbrow haircut. “Business at the front and party at the back”-it has made comebacks as a retro look.
