What should I expect if I have light hair ?

The colouring process from light to dark can be a multi-step service. Depending on how light your hair is, our colourists will have to fill your hair before with a warmer tone as this provides a better canvas for the brunette to reflect before applying the darker colour. Without this warmer filler, brunettes tend to reflect green or look hollow. 

If you’re looking to cover naturally silver hair there are two options. A semi-permanent colour will blur these sparkles whereas a permanent colour will completely change the colour. The semi has a softer regrowth line whereas the permanent will have a harsher line. We recommend semi-permanent for less than 50% silver or for your first time trying silver coverage. For clients over 50% silver, we recommend permanent. However, this is completely up to the client's discretion. 

What should I do  before my appointment ?

Before your appointment, we highly recommend using bond-building products such as K18 as colour services will affect these bonds and a precautionary measure will ensure the best hair health possible. We also recommend continuing to use these products after the colour service to assist with hair health. Upon arrival, your hair should also be dry and preferably free of knots.

If you use root cover-up products, like sprays or powders, these need to be out of your hair before your appointment. 

Bring photos! There is a lot of variation in the brunette spectrum and the easiest way to show your stylist what you do and don’t like is through a visual reference. We recommend bringing as many photos as possible! 

Please advise us if you think your hair will take longer than the allotted time. If you have a history of excessive knots and tangles, thick hair or extra long hair. If you know your hair lifts fast/slow please let us know.

How often will I need to come back for my regrowth ?

Depending on your hair service, and your comfortability with regrowth, the maintenance appointments will vary. Some clients come in every two weeks whereas others come in 2 - 3 times a year. This is up to you, your stylist and your hair goals.
